Santa Evan

For Christmas, we found this super cute Santa outfit at Babies R Us for $2.50!!! (We bought it the 23rd - it was on clearance) So, we of course had to buy it! Evan was a really good sport even though it was a very hot costume. These outdoor pictures were taken outside of Casey's Grandpa's place. The people there got a big kick out of Evan!

We had also bought these reindeer ears for the dogs so they could join in the fun. It turned out to be pretty difficult to get two dogs and a toddler to pose for a "perfect picture".

(Notice the blanket that is holding Evan. Yep, that's Casey. He was not as incognito as we thought!)

We did open presents and have a yummy Christmas dinner with family, but we apparently forgot to take any pictures! It was a fun day, though!!

Christmas Day...Playing in the Snow!

On Christmas day, it snowed a TON! It was the first time we took Evan out to really play in the snow! We had Casey pull us around in a tube. It proved to be a difficult task as we have no hills around, and he was pulling us through 6 inches of fresh snow. We had fun though, and Evan LOVED it!!

Funny Story...

As long as we have had Daisy, she has had this really gross habit - when I sort the dirty laundry on the floor, for some reason she feels the need to roll around in it. She rolls in a pile until she flattens it, then she will carry one garment to another part of the floor and roll over that. I think for some crazy reason she wants to have our smell on her. (Once she rolled around the same way in a pile of horse manure....but that's a different story) Anyway, until today, she was the only one I had to worry about. But today, Evan apparently decided that if Daisy was doing it, he needed to join in the fun. So as I was sorting I had Daisy - and Evan rolling on piles of dirty clothes. Evan was laughing hysterically. They would even switch piles at about the same time. Gross - I know. But it was also pretty amusing.

Discipline...

Evan is a really fun kid. He loves to explore everything, and loves to see just how much he can get away with without getting into trouble. He is actually starting to follow directions on a couple of things. For instance, he is not allowed to walk while drinking from his sippy cup. So now, if I hand it to him and say, "sit down". He will!! So, we are making some progress. However, for some reason he does not always take me seriously. When he is doing something naughty, like going for the outlet while I am vacuuming, or playing his flute and then hitting Daisy with it...I will get on his level, look into his eyes, and firmly say "no!". Unfortunately, his response is not a sad or remorseful look. His response is to start LAUGHING. That's right. Every time I get serious, and look into his eyes to say "no"....he laughs. It's not quite the response I've been looking for. I guess I will have to find another way to get my point across.

Just a couple cute pictures!!

He Loves the Vaccum!!

For some reason, Evan LOVES the vaccum. He walks around it and inspects it!! I hope this continues and he can help me with housework soon!

Bath time...

Okay, so every night we basically have the same routine with Evan. He eats dinner around 5:30, then he's in the bath a little after 6:00, we read three stories, and he's in bed by 6:30pm. At bath time, we get him undressed in his room, and then let him do a "naked walk" to the bath. He always takes a detour down the hall to the living room, and kitchen and I think really enjoys being in the nude running around. He is so cute - he gets a huge grin and runs from room to room, touching everything he can - perhaps giving it his naked blessing. We have never had any mishaps; that is until last night. Anyway, he was walking around the living room, and all of a sudden he stopped and just stood there. And then it happened. He peed on the floor...and on a book that was on the floor. Then he just looked at us, and continued with the "naked walk". I guess it was only a matter of time....
