Mother's Day

I know that Mother's Day is over, but these are a few pics from our day. We went to a nearby reservoir for a picnic and sat by the water. Then we dipped our feet in. It was really cold water, but a lot of fun! Evan enjoyed walking long the shore!

Evan's half birthday...and getting kissed by Daisy

We decided to do a little celebration for Evan's half birthday last month. Basically Casey and I just had dinner and a half-cake with him..but it was fun! He's growing up so fast!!

After dinner, Daisy was giving out kisses left and right. And Evan was LOVING it. It was kinda gross though. In this picture you can actually see her tongue covering his mouth.

The Circus!

A few weeks ago, my mom's preschool class went to the circus! They had some extra tickets, so Evan and I tagged along! It was really fun. He was very entertained and watched intently for two hours!

I had to get him a pony ride...it was very quick, but I think he enjoyed it. And no, that's not a trained elephant holding him up...that's me. :)
These are the trained elephants. We do look similar...I just need the cool red hat!

What can I say, this boy loves his dogs....

The funny thing about this picture is that it is, in fact, an action shot. Evan was doing his "naked run" to the bathroom on his way to take a bath. He got distracted and decided to pet Benny instead. And actually, while I was taking this picture, he was peeing on Benny. Note the facial expression on Evan AND Benny. It was pretty funny. Poor Benny.

Easter

Evan did an Easter egg hunt at my parents house. It was fun - he did a great job!
After, Daddy helped him go through all the treasures in his eggs!

The Problem with Spaghetti....

Is it is EXTREMELY messy!

This morning....

Well, this morning has been a little rough in the Lynn household. It all began at 2:30am when Evan woke up crying. He does this every now and then and usually goes right back to sleep. But he was pretty sad this morning, so I brought him in bed with us which always calms him down. Now, this is great but I have a hard time sleeping because he really likes to be touching me and snuggling. So needless to say I'm kind of tired. So then, we all got up and it's Casey's day off which usually holds such promise. However, every one out of two days off (seriously) he wakes up with a headache. And this morning it apparently is a doosey. So I've got him down for the count trying to get rid of his headache and Evan walks into the kitchen where I am and starts coughing. This isn't too weird because the poor child has been sick for a week now. He had a fever last Thursday that lasted a couple days, and then it turned into a runny nose and cough. He is finally acting more like himself which is good, but still has a little head cold. Anyway..back to this morning. So he walked up to me wanting to be picked up, and coughing a bit. And then it happened. He threw up ALL over me. It went all down my side, and on his pj's. I got him to the sink for the last couple rounds but needless to say we were covered. I think that's a first for me. He threw up a little on me when he was a baby, but that was more like intense spit up. This was full-fledged puke. Poor kid. I'm really hoping it's a one-time thing as he was acting fine before that. But I guess time will tell.
So, that's how we have started our day here in the Lynn house. Not exactly how I was hoping. I'm optimistic that the afternoon will be better! But, we'll see. I hope you are having a much better start to the day than we are!

Prince Charming

There is a new Steven Curtis Chapman song out titled "Cinderella". It is written for his little girls and is basically a reminder of how precious our time is with our little ones because they grow up so quickly. And it also touches on the relationship between a father and a daughter. If you want to hear the song and see the video...and maybe even tear up a bit, go to http://www.stevencurtischapman.com/cinderella.htm Well, this song has got me thinking. There are many songs about little girls and their daddy's but I can't think of any about the relationship between a mother and her son - her little Prince Charming. We are in such a special time of life with Evan. He is so sweet and at this point we are his world. I am the woman in his life that he wants to be with right now! He loves my company and hugs and cuddles are always in abundance. But as this song has reminded me, it won't last long. Very soon he will no longer care about his mom, and soon after that will find another woman who he will spend the rest of his life with. I pray that he will have a wife and a family some day, but part of me will miss my sweet little Prince Charming. So, I know every parent you talk to says, "Enjoy this time while it lasts - it goes quickly!" So, that is what I am going to do. I find myself trying to pause, and mentally file these moments in my memory forever. Because I know that all too soon, my Prince Charming will move on...and find his own Cinderella.

In a Box

I brought some food home from Sams the other day in this box. Before I knew it, Evan had figured out how to fit himself in the box. It was pretty cute!

Buds

Evan has figured out how to climb up on Daisy's bed. (We have it on a trunk in front of the window so she can look outside) They are learning how to share the space. I am actually very impressed with her patience with Evan - even though he is invading her spot!!

On The Phone...

Evan loves "talking" on his little phone. And he was super cute this time because he was in his diaper!!!

29 Weeks

This is me at 29 weeks! I actually haven't taken any other pictures yet, so I figured it was about time. I just keep growing and growing! I think I will be HUGE by the end of this pregnancy!!

The cold has struck again...

For the last few days, I have been feeling a little under the weather. Yes, for the second time this season, I have caught "the cold". Now, it's never fun to be sick, but I have decided it is significantly worse when you are pregnant (because the medicines you can take are limited) AND have a small child running around the house. I can't just curl up in bed and rest when I need to. It's limited to Evan's short nap schedule. And for some reaosn he has been Mr. Energy lately. I really can't complain much because this cold has been pretty mild compared to some, but I have decided it's no fun for Evan, or me really when I'm sick. Hopefully I will kick this soon, and things will get back to normal.

He's so smart!

Since it was such a pretty day today, we went outside to play for a little while. We have an area in the front yard where the the grass ends and there is a border of stone, and then some rock right up next to the house. Well, while we were playing outside, Evan discovered that there were some rocks that were out of place. He then spent the next ten minutes or so moving each rock that was in the grass (one by one, mind you) back over to be with it's other rock buddies. He was really having fun with it! I was impressed that he recognized that they were not where they should be. Smart guy!

Flowers!

No, we have not been lucky enough to have an early spring. But, we did go to the Garden and Home Show. It was a little different than I thought it would be, but was still fun to see some flowers!! Evan enjoyed sniffing them!

My Valentine...

Bass Pro Shop

We took Evan to Bass Pro last weekend to look at all the "animals". He had fun and really liked looking at the big fish tank.

However, Casey and Evan were almost eaten by a bear!! Just kidding.
And Evan found a 4-Wheeler that he really liked.

Eating...and Reading

At breakfast lately, Evan is like this little old man who reads the paper (well...he reads a book) and eats his food. He's pretty interested - and really cute!

Family

Casey's brother and his family came out for a visit at the end of January. It was really fun to see them! We miss you guys!

Attempted Kisses...

I always try to get Benny to give me kisses, which he never does because he hates it when you are face to face. So, I told Evan to try...and this is as close as he got!

Since Benny wouldn't give any kisses, Evan decided to check out his ear instead. :)

My Little "Sponge"

Lately, I feel like Evan is saying more and understanding more every day! He is saying new words all the time, and seems to be able to understand more things when I talk to him. He really is a sponge! A crazy 2-year old girl at Walmart came up to our cart and was talking about bubbles. Sure enough, as soon as we left he started saying "bubble". He's been learning how to give kisses too! I always tell Benny to give me a kiss and stick my face in his face (he HATES looking eye to eye) and when Evan hears me say that, he makes kissey noises. He even made his kissey noises in the car the other day when a line in a song said, "When you kiss me...". He also likes to mimic me when I get frustrated and made a "uggh" noise. He really is too funny and so smart! He's always "chatting", and loves to do things to make you laugh. I can't wait until he is really talking so I can hear what goes on in that sweet little head of his!

*Some other words that Evan is saying..."go; no, no; ma ma; daddy; Daisy; Benny; apple; puppy; cool; uh oh; knee; baby; nose; and I'm sure there are others I can't think of right now. He also makes some good noises...he can "woof", grunt, make mouse noises, moo, and he loves to "sing"!
