What can I say, this boy loves his dogs....

The funny thing about this picture is that it is, in fact, an action shot. Evan was doing his "naked run" to the bathroom on his way to take a bath. He got distracted and decided to pet Benny instead. And actually, while I was taking this picture, he was peeing on Benny. Note the facial expression on Evan AND Benny. It was pretty funny. Poor Benny.

Easter

Evan did an Easter egg hunt at my parents house. It was fun - he did a great job!
After, Daddy helped him go through all the treasures in his eggs!

The Problem with Spaghetti....

Is it is EXTREMELY messy!

This morning....

Well, this morning has been a little rough in the Lynn household. It all began at 2:30am when Evan woke up crying. He does this every now and then and usually goes right back to sleep. But he was pretty sad this morning, so I brought him in bed with us which always calms him down. Now, this is great but I have a hard time sleeping because he really likes to be touching me and snuggling. So needless to say I'm kind of tired. So then, we all got up and it's Casey's day off which usually holds such promise. However, every one out of two days off (seriously) he wakes up with a headache. And this morning it apparently is a doosey. So I've got him down for the count trying to get rid of his headache and Evan walks into the kitchen where I am and starts coughing. This isn't too weird because the poor child has been sick for a week now. He had a fever last Thursday that lasted a couple days, and then it turned into a runny nose and cough. He is finally acting more like himself which is good, but still has a little head cold. Anyway..back to this morning. So he walked up to me wanting to be picked up, and coughing a bit. And then it happened. He threw up ALL over me. It went all down my side, and on his pj's. I got him to the sink for the last couple rounds but needless to say we were covered. I think that's a first for me. He threw up a little on me when he was a baby, but that was more like intense spit up. This was full-fledged puke. Poor kid. I'm really hoping it's a one-time thing as he was acting fine before that. But I guess time will tell.
So, that's how we have started our day here in the Lynn house. Not exactly how I was hoping. I'm optimistic that the afternoon will be better! But, we'll see. I hope you are having a much better start to the day than we are!

Prince Charming

There is a new Steven Curtis Chapman song out titled "Cinderella". It is written for his little girls and is basically a reminder of how precious our time is with our little ones because they grow up so quickly. And it also touches on the relationship between a father and a daughter. If you want to hear the song and see the video...and maybe even tear up a bit, go to http://www.stevencurtischapman.com/cinderella.htm Well, this song has got me thinking. There are many songs about little girls and their daddy's but I can't think of any about the relationship between a mother and her son - her little Prince Charming. We are in such a special time of life with Evan. He is so sweet and at this point we are his world. I am the woman in his life that he wants to be with right now! He loves my company and hugs and cuddles are always in abundance. But as this song has reminded me, it won't last long. Very soon he will no longer care about his mom, and soon after that will find another woman who he will spend the rest of his life with. I pray that he will have a wife and a family some day, but part of me will miss my sweet little Prince Charming. So, I know every parent you talk to says, "Enjoy this time while it lasts - it goes quickly!" So, that is what I am going to do. I find myself trying to pause, and mentally file these moments in my memory forever. Because I know that all too soon, my Prince Charming will move on...and find his own Cinderella.
