Beautiful Criminal

Okay, so I totally stole this from my friend Jessica's blog. Her and her husband Nate are great friends of ours. Nate is in a band called Beautiful Criminal. Well, she posted Nate's latest song on her blog, and I love it so much I just have to share. This is what she wrote on her blog to preface the song...

"One of the things I love about Nate's songs is they often give insight into his prayers. We see this in a lot of songwriters, but one thing that Nate does that I think is different (and causes some of his songs to be a bit cryptic) is he includes what God speaks to him. When you listen to his songs, it like eavesdropping on a conversation between him and God. Nate speaks, God speaks. Its amazing for me to get into my car, have Nate's song come on, and be able to share in a beautiful moment between my God and my husband."

Caden's 1st Birthday!

Well, my sweet Caden turned ONE on May 28th! I can't believe how big he is getting! We did quite a few fun things for his birthday! That morning for breakfast, Casey made "pig-cakes" for the boys! :)

Then we all went to the zoo....

We went to a local restaurant called Amazing Jake's for dinner. It is a HUGE place with rides, games, etc...oh yeah and food. It was fun!

The weekend after Caden's birthday we had a small party at home with our families. This is Caden waiting for his guests to arrive :)

James was a pro at cake-eating!

...and then Caden decided that he would rather color then open his presents. So I opened them with assistance from Evan and James :)

Another Evan-ism

So the other day, I asked Evan,
"What do you want for a snack?"
To which he replied,
"Cake with candy on it!"

What?! I thought this was hilarious because he really never gets candy, and very rarely gets cake. It must be all the birthday's we've been celebrating....

James Turns 1!!

My nephew, James turned 1 a couple weeks ago. His party was a "bandit" theme because he always seems to "steal" the toy he wants from whoever is playing with it. It was a fun party, and as you can see, he REALLY enjoyed his cake!!

(....since James didn't know how, Evan and Grandma helped blow out his candle)
